Whole-home dehumidifiers and fresh-air intake · 4- and 5-inch media filter cabinets · UV lamps and coil treatment
Humidity is the real enemy here.
We fix the sticky, musty house with proper dehumidification, media filtration and UV where it makes sense, and we'll tell you plainly when an add-on isn't worth your money.
Why the house feels sticky even when the A/C runs
On the Treasure Coast the problem usually isn't dust. It's water in the air. A house can sit at a comfortable temperature and still feel clammy, with a musty smell in the closets and a damp feel to the towels. That's humidity, and a thermostat doesn't measure it.
A system that's oversized or that satisfies the thermostat too quickly shuts off before it has pulled the moisture out. The air gets cool but not dry. Ten months of runtime a year makes that pattern easy to fall into, and it's the first thing we look at in Port St. Lucie homes before anyone talks about air cleaners.

The fixes, in the order we'd do them
Moisture comes first. Whole-home dehumidifiers and a fresh-air intake deal with the water directly, so the A/C can go back to cooling instead of fighting a wet house. Next come 4- and 5-inch media filter cabinets, which hold more and let the system breathe.
UV lamps and coil treatment come last, and only where they make sense. A coil that stays damp is where the musty smell starts, so cleaning and treating it can help. We'd rather solve the cause than stack equipment onto a house that doesn't need it.
The honest answer on add-ons
Indoor air quality is a category full of products that sound better than they work. If a dehumidifier will fix your problem, we won't sell you a UV lamp as well. If a better filter is all the house needs, that's what we'll write on the ticket.
Super Cool has worked these towns since 1988, and the owner's name is on the invoice. If an add-on isn't worth your money, we'll tell you plainly, and you decide what goes on the work order. Call (772) 284-5774 and describe what the house smells and feels like.

The fixes, in order
Three lines on the ticket, written in the order we’d do them. Any line that isn’t earning its place comes off.
Whole-home dehumidifiers and fresh-air intake
Start with the water in the air. A dehumidifier tied into the duct pulls moisture out even when the A/C isn't running long, and a controlled fresh-air intake keeps the house from breathing damp air through every gap.
4- and 5-inch media filter cabinets
A deep media cabinet catches far more than a thin one-inch filter, and it moves air with less strain on the blower. It's a sensible second step once the humidity is under control.
UV lamps and coil treatment, where it makes sense
A damp indoor coil is where the musty smell is born. UV at the coil and a proper coil treatment can help keep it clean, on the systems where that's the real problem.
